Dr. Andrew Tan
Andrew Tan is a Singaporean entrepreneur, cross-cultural business strategist, educator, and published author with over 25 years of experience spanning IT, financial services, strategy consulting, and experiential retail.
He is the co-founder and owner of atomi, a premium Japanese lifestyle and design brand established in Singapore in 2009 with his Tokyo-born wife Mitsuko Murano, built on the founding philosophy of Japanese design meets comfortable lifestyle.
In 2017, he launched a second retail venture, Actus Hause, and serves as Managing Partner of atomi Consulting, advising stakeholders from technology start-ups to government agencies and major mall and property owners in Singapore and Japan.
Andrew has been an educator for over 12 years, developing entrepreneurship modules at Nanyang Technological University and co-lecturing postgraduate modules for the Master of Science in Technopreneurship and Innovation Programme.
He is also an industry partner for the Minor in Integrative Health at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Medicine, a mentor to Enterprise Leadership Transformation businesses, and a judge for the Kumar Sustainability Innovation Prize at NTU.
His book The Atomi Way draws on his outsider-insider perspective as a Singaporean entrepreneur embedded in Japanese business culture, covering aesthetics, organisational philosophy, and consumer mindset. Fluent in English, Chinese, Japanese, and dialects, he brings rare cross-cultural fluency to APYCF.
